Water, Water, Water!

Most of us rarely think twice about our access to clean water. We turn on the tap, and there it is. But at Litein Mission Hospital in Kenya, where we work, the reality is very different. Water is often scarce.

While a water shortage might be a temporary inconvenience for us, imagine trying to run a 250-bed hospital without consistent access. Many times throughout the day, the water must be shut off just to conserve what little there is.

But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be this way.

Litein is located in a region that receives plenty of rainfall. The challenge isn’t the lack of water—it’s the lack of storage. With the construction of the new rehabilitation center, we have a large new roof—perfect for collecting rainwater.

We have the opportunity to help solve this problem by installing five 10,000-liter tanks to catch and store rainwater from the new roof. The total cost for all five tanks is just $3,500.

Would you prayerfully consider helping us make this possible?

Wheels in Motion (and a Little Fun Too!)

In the midst of all the exciting developments, Solomon was also able to secure a donation of a new type of wheelchair—and we couldn’t be more thrilled about the lives these will impact. These chairs will provide much-needed mobility and independence to those who need it most.

And who says you can’t have a little fun along the way? In the photo above, Solomon and Gilbert are seen racing down the corridor, test-driving the new chairs with big smiles and lots of laughter. Moments like these remind us that joy is part of the healing too.

Visitors from Tennessee

The month of May also brought more friendly faces to Litein! We were honored to welcome Eric and Anita Fields, who traveled all the way from Bristol, Tennessee, to visit the ministry in person.

Eric and Anita have been a tremendous blessing to the work here, and we are so grateful they took the time to come and witness firsthand what God is doing in Litein. Their encouragement and support mean so much to our team and the community we serve.

First Time in the U.S.!

We were thrilled to welcome Elias—the very first technician Steve trained in Bolivia—on his first-ever visit to the United States! After being granted a visa (a clear answer to prayer), we were able to help him travel to Indiana for a time of connection, learning, and vision-casting.

(Above: Elias at a college lab in Joliet, Illinois, where he and Steve were able to visit.)

Elias and Steve spent valuable time working side by side, exploring new ways to expand and strengthen the ministry in Bolivia. As a result, we’ve decided that the time has come to help Elias set up a workshop in his own home, where he’ll be able to see clients and continue growing in his skills and service.

He has come so far, and we are honored to partner with him in this next step. We also loaded him up with much-needed supplies to take back to Bolivia.

Please join us in praying for Elias as he continues this exciting journey!

Life’s Been Full—In the Best Way!

As you can probably tell from this newsletter, life has been full and busy! One of the biggest pieces of news: Remi became an aunt—which means we became grandparents! 🎉

Evan and Selah welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy, Zavier Daniel. While they’ve chosen not to post photos publicly (which we fully respect), we can assure you—he’s absolutely perfect. 😊

After Elias returned to Bolivia in June, we traveled to Kentucky for the Ripe for Harvest Conference, which takes place every other year. We’re so thankful to continue serving as missionaries through this incredible organization. These gatherings are a time of refreshment and encouragement, and we deeply appreciate how Ripe for Harvest pours into us and our fellow missionaries.

Because our personal support is raised through Ripe for Harvest, 100% of what’s given to Project Eleven Five goes directly to the projects we’re working on in Kenya and Bolivia.

We’re currently praying for additional monthly partners. Would you consider joining our team and being part of what God is doing through this ministry?
