Update and Prayer Request

Dear friends,

We wanted to share a brief update, as much has happened since our last message.

First, thank you for the prayers, encouragement, and kindness you have shown our family following the passing of Steve’s dad. We have felt deeply supported and carried by your prayers during this time. As we continue to grieve, we are especially mindful of Steve’s mom. Her health has declined, and these may be her final weeks. Steve has made the decision to stay here with her, to be present and care for her during this sacred and difficult time. We would be so grateful for your continued prayers for her comfort and for peace for the whole family.

In the midst of this, our ministry work continues to move forward in ways we could not have planned ourselves.

In news from Kenya, we continue to see meaningful progress in the ministry there. One recent blessing was the time Mark and Meg D’Amico spent serving for a month at Hope in Motion, Litein. Mark, a prosthetist, and Meg, an orthopedic technician, came at just the right time — stepping in as we needed to return to the U.S. for Steve’s dad. Mark was a tremendous help in the prosthetic clinic, while Meg faithfully served in the rehab unit, working with all the children sponsored through the Hope Fund. We are so grateful for how the Lord orchestrated their visit so perfectly. His timing in bringing them was truly a gift and a reminder of His provision in every detail.

We were scheduled to travel to Bolivia together, but given the circumstances, Danée and Remi will be going as planned while Steve remains here. This trip is important, as the ministry there is growing and expanding. What began as prosthetic outreach is now reaching even further — serving children with disabilities and opening new doors for impact in the community.

Danée and Remi will be carrying much-needed supplies, meeting with local partners, and spending time learning how the ministry has grown. This trip will help us better understand how we can continue to come alongside and support this work in meaningful and sustainable ways.

While this is not how we originally envisioned this season, we trust that the Lord is guiding each step — both here and abroad. We are reminded again that His work is not limited by our plans or presence.

Thank you for praying:

For Steve’s mom in these coming days

For Steve as he stays and cares for her

For safe travel, strength, and wisdom for Danée and Remi in Bolivia

For continued guidance as we discern how to support the expanding work there

We are so grateful to walk this journey with you.

With gratitude and hope in Jesus,

The Morels
Steve, Danée, and Remi
