There were so many wonderful things that happened during our most recent time in Kenya that it is hard to know what to share. One is Targog. You may remember us sharing about Targog last fall. She had lost her leg as a result of a cobra bite. Last fall, after we got her walking again on a new leg, she took a motorcycle taxi from the hospital. While we are still unclear as to exactly what happened, there was an accident and she broke her femur. She went back to her village to heal, and this past trip we were able to help her return to Litein to be fitted again with a leg. What a joy it was to see her again! She still has a long road ahead as she builds her muscles back up and learns to walk. Please join us in praying for her as she continues her journey of healing with restored hope.

Another highlight of this trip was a luncheon we were able to host for eight of our patients and their families. It was an amazing time as they felt honored and loved. Dr. Terer, the CEO of Litein Hospital, and all of the Chaplains were there as well. Our patients, who normally feel forgotten, felt honored and loved. We allowed time for them to share their stores. Perhaps the best part of the day was seeing them interact and encourage each other. Having them all together in one room helped them see they are not alone in their journeys. We took some video of their testimonies and shared one below. Also shared is the reaction of some of the hospital staff to all the testimonies. Jesus was at the center of it all!

You may remember us talking about Circleg before. We first met the team from Circleg in Uganda three years ago and got our first look at a prototype of their new prosthetic leg made from recycled plastic. We were impressed and were waiting patiently for production to start. Well, the leg is finally ready and being made in Nairobi, Kenya! Even at the low costs of $345 for a below knee leg and $595 for an above knee leg, it is still out of reach for many of our patients. Regardless, we were able to purchase 10 legs which we hope to scholarship for our neediest patients.
Give toward helping others walk again!
There is so much more we could tell you about. One exciting point is that we began working with an architect from Nairobi to design the new rehab center. We are excited to tell you more about that in our next update!
We are extremely grateful to our Lord for the many ways He has been blessing this ministry. From the smallest of details to the biggest of visions (like the new rehabilitation center!) He has been faithful and true. As partners in this ministry, we hope you feel blessed too.
