Dear friends,

Thank you for continuing to pray for and support the ministry of Project Eleven Five. We wanted to share a recent update from our time in Bolivia and some of the ways we have seen God’s faithfulness in both joyful and difficult moments.

As many of you know, just before our trip to Bolivia, Steve’s mom’s health took a sudden turn for the worse. After much prayer, we decided that Remi and I would continue on to Bolivia while Steve stayed behind so he could help with care for his mom. Things progressed quicker than we anticipated, and Mary Ann went to be with the Lord on April 12th. Steve was extremely grateful to be with all of his siblings as they surrounded Mary Ann, prayed over her and reminded her how much they loved her. Her passing came just over two months after Steve’s dad died. While these have been difficult and sad times, we have seen God’s grace and peace poured out through it all. Your many prayers, messages, and support during that time have been a comfort to us. We have been reminded many times that this world is not our home!

After the funeral, Steve joined us in Bolivia. While in Bolivia, it was a blessing to reconnect with Maria Blanca, who we have partnered with from the beginning of Filadelfia Center for Prosthetics. The ministry there continues moving forward, it is a small ministry, but it has a huge impact on everyone it serves.

We are also excited to share that Elias, who has also been with us from the very beginning, has stepped into a new ministry. Watching him grow and spread his wings has been incredibly encouraging, and we are excited to see the ministry continue expanding in new ways.

As we prayed about how best to continue supporting Elias and this growing ministry, we felt led to come alongside him not only through supplies and training, but also by helping him attend university. Unfortunately, there are no prosthetics programs available in Bolivia, so the closest option is in San Salvador. The cost is approximately $5,000 per year for three years. We believe this training would help Elias tremendously, both in expanding his skills and in giving greater credibility to the important work he is already doing for the ministry. Most of the work would be done online. Please join us in praying for wisdom, provision, and open doors as we explore this opportunity.

We will also be partnering with the new organization Elias has helped form, called Paso a Paso, or Step by Step, to help set up a new clinic. We are grateful for this opportunity and the additional people it will serve! The new organization will be directed by a friend of ours who has been in ministry in Bolivia for many years. We are so grateful for his leadership.

One especially beautiful part of the trip was seeing the new soccer team for women with amputations. Steve and Elias are currently making a leg for one of the girls on the team, so it was a joy for us to attend one of their practices and a BBQ with the girls and their families.

During the gathering, a family arrived with their 8-year-old daughter who will soon need to have her leg amputated. She was understandably scared and overwhelmed by what lies ahead. After practice, several of the girls shared their testimonies and encouraged her with their own stories of hope, perseverance, and joy. It was such a powerful reminder that God is always at work — meeting people exactly where they are and bringing comfort through community and shared experiences.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the ministry, for these girls, and for the families we have the privilege of serving. We are continually reminded that God is faithful in every season.

Support the work of this ministry. 🙂

Above is part of the girls’ soccer team. These young women are such a powerful testimony of courage, perseverance, and the incredible things they are capable of accomplishing.

Hope in Motion Center in Kenya continues moving forward through our Hope Fund, Prosthetic Leg Fund, and Wheelchair Fund. Here, and above at top, are recent recipients receiving new wheelchairs and a prosthetic leg alongside their families and the Hope in Motion team. What a joy to see smiles, renewed mobility, and hope in action!

Update and Prayer Request https://projectelevenfive.org/update-and-prayer-request/ Mon, 13 Apr 2026 13:22:42 +0000 https://projectelevenfive.org/?p=463 Dear friends,

We wanted to share a brief update, as much has happened since our last message.

First, thank you for the prayers, encouragement, and kindness you have shown our family following the passing of Steve’s dad. We have felt deeply supported and carried by your prayers during this time. As we continue to grieve, we are especially mindful of Steve’s mom. Her health has declined, and these may be her final weeks. Steve has made the decision to stay here with her, to be present and care for her during this sacred and difficult time. We would be so grateful for your continued prayers for her comfort and for peace for the whole family.

In the midst of this, our ministry work continues to move forward in ways we could not have planned ourselves.

In news from Kenya, we continue to see meaningful progress in the ministry there. One recent blessing was the time Mark and Meg D’Amico spent serving for a month at Hope in Motion, Litein. Mark, a prosthetist, and Meg, an orthopedic technician, came at just the right time — stepping in as we needed to return to the U.S. for Steve’s dad. Mark was a tremendous help in the prosthetic clinic, while Meg faithfully served in the rehab unit, working with all the children sponsored through the Hope Fund. We are so grateful for how the Lord orchestrated their visit so perfectly. His timing in bringing them was truly a gift and a reminder of His provision in every detail.

We were scheduled to travel to Bolivia together, but given the circumstances, Danée and Remi will be going as planned while Steve remains here. This trip is important, as the ministry there is growing and expanding. What began as prosthetic outreach is now reaching even further — serving children with disabilities and opening new doors for impact in the community.

Danée and Remi will be carrying much-needed supplies, meeting with local partners, and spending time learning how the ministry has grown. This trip will help us better understand how we can continue to come alongside and support this work in meaningful and sustainable ways.

While this is not how we originally envisioned this season, we trust that the Lord is guiding each step — both here and abroad. We are reminded again that His work is not limited by our plans or presence.

Thank you for praying:

For Steve’s mom in these coming days

For Steve as he stays and cares for her

For safe travel, strength, and wisdom for Danée and Remi in Bolivia

For continued guidance as we discern how to support the expanding work there

We are so grateful to walk this journey with you.

With gratitude and hope in Jesus,

The Morels
Steve, Danée, and Remi

Join us in providing mobility!

It’s Christmas at Litein! https://projectelevenfive.org/its-christmas-at-litein/ https://projectelevenfive.org/its-christmas-at-litein/#respond Wed, 24 Dec 2025 13:53:30 +0000 https://projectelevenfive.org/?p=441 Christmas is almost here, and we are overjoyed to share wonderful news from our partner, AIC Litein Hospital in Kenya. Thanks to your generous support through Project ElevenFive, we were able to fully fund a special holiday outreach.

This season, the team from Hope in Motion and the Chaplaincy came together to make it a very special Christmas for 50 children who are reached through the Hope Fund. Each package included food, a picture Bible, and plenty of love. The message to these families, in the words of Solomon, the Director of Hope in Motion, was simple and heartfelt:

“You are seen, you are loved, and you are valued by God”

This is what Project ElevenFive is all about: restoring freedom, dignity, and hope through prosthetic care, physical therapy, and caring support.

We are grateful for our partners at AIC Litein Mission Hospital and especially for you—your prayers and gifts made this Christmas brighter for these children and their families.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year! May the joy of the Good News of Jesus fill your hearts!

In His service,

Steve and Danée

Help us continue the work by making an end of the year gift

Hope in Motion Has Begun https://projectelevenfive.org/hope-in-motion-has-begun/ Mon, 06 Oct 2025 12:44:00 +0000 https://projectelevenfive.org/?p=421 On September 13, we dedicated the Hope in Motion Physiotherapy & Prosthetic Center in Kenya. Hundreds gathered—community members, leaders, government officials, and news crews—all to witness God’s faithfulness.

It was a day filled with joy, celebration, and thanksgiving!

Watch the Celebration on YouTube

A huge highlight was the children who received new wheelchairs leading the procession, followed by the local girls school marching band. Truly unforgettable!

We went from this…

To this!

Remi held the scissors for the ribbon cutting. 🙂

The new equipment is such a blessing to all! There was so much excitement as the equipment was tested out by hospital staff. Above, the new gait trainer is demonstrated.

One powerful moment came when the new treadmills were tested for the first time. In the U.S., treadmills are common—but here in the region of AIC Litein Mission Hospital, nothing like this has ever been seen. The joy and amazement in the crowd reminded us again: Jesus is doing something extraordinary in this place.

While everyone celebrated the beautiful new facility, the greatest focus of the day was Jesus. He is the reason this center exists, the source of every good gift, and the true hope for every patient who will walk through these doors.

Be a part of this ministry!

We were especially grateful for friends who traveled all the way from Indiana to join us in the celebration. Their presence meant so much to us. Above are Ray and Tonya Hunt, whose support and encouragement were a true blessing.

As patients walk through the doors of the new facility, the very first thing they will see is this verse—thank you to Mark Deister, who has faithfully reminded me of it in nearly every conversation we’ve ever had! What a powerful reminder that each new day is a reason to give thanks and rejoice.

We were also blessed to have Doug and Cyndie Nicola and their daughter Beth Reinhold join us. Their help during two of our busiest weeks leading up to the dedication was an incredible gift—we honestly couldn’t have made it through with our sanity intact without them!

We are celebrating every patient who will walk through the doors of this new center.

Above is Ester, pictured with her son and granddaughter. She was the very first patient to be fitted with a new leg in the new facility. What a powerful moment of hope and restoration!

All glory to God—and heartfelt thanks to you for partnering with us to make this possible.

As missionaries with Ripe for Harvest, we (Steve & Danee Morel) raise our salaries through this organization. This allows all gifts given to Project Eleven Five to go directly toward ministry projects and expenses.

However, our support through Ripe for Harvest has been very low, and we need partners to stand with us so we can continue serving.

🙏 Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us in this ministry?

Together, we can continue bringing the hope of Jesus to many.
